California Prop 65

California's Proposition 65 entitles California consumers to special warnings for products that contain lead and other chemicals known to the state of California to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm if those products expose consumers to such chemicals above certain threshold levels. We absolutely take these inquiries seriously so please allow us to shed a bit more light on this particular labeling and how it relates to you.

Proposition 65, otherwise known as the "Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986", is a California state labeling law that requires businesses, like us here at B.A.I.T Footwear, to notify its California customers of the presence of any of the 900+ chemicals that the State of California has deemed may be hazardous to your health. Here are some important points to take into consideration regarding this proposition:

1) Prop 65 is not a health and safety statute.

2) The presence of a Prop 65 warning on one of our products does not necessarily mean that the product is unsafe or hazardous to your health

You can find a more extensive explanation regarding this proposition by visiting the California Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment website which can be found here: http://www.oehha.ca.gov
